A Ukrainian sniper using a Volodar Obriyu rifle, also known as “Horizon’s Lord,” at a distance of 3,800 meters or 2.3 miles, claimed world record for the longest sniper kill.

The shot allegedly targeted and killed a Russian soldier. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced the achievement, praising the sniper and highlighting the significant distance covered in the shot.

The previous record was said to be held by a Canadian soldier who hit a target from a distance of 2.2 miles in Iraq in 2017. However, the details of the reported record-setting shot in Ukraine, including the date and location, were not provided in the information.

It’s important to note that such claims should be treated with caution until they are independently verified.

A Ukrainian sniper took out a Russian soldier from nearly 2½ miles away with a high-tech rifle known as “Horizon’s Lord.”

Sniper shots at extreme distances require not only skilled marksmanship but also favorable environmental conditions and precise equipment. The information mentions that the footage of the shot has not yet been verified, so it’s crucial to await confirmation from reliable sources.

Additionally, the context of the military conflict between Ukraine and Russia should be considered when interpreting such reports, as they can be subject to propaganda and information warfare.
