An active shooting at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas on Wednesday resulted in the tragic deaths of three victims, according to authorities. Additionally, a fourth victim is currently in critical condition.
Initially, Sheriff Kevin McMahill reported three injured victims with unknown conditions, noting that this number might change. Subsequently, authorities later confirmed the loss of three lives and disclosed that a fourth individual was in a critical condition at the hospital.
In addition to the casualties, four students were hospitalized due to severe panic attacks, while a few officers sustained minor injuries.
The suspect, identified as a man in his 60s who had recently applied for a job at the university and was denied, was killed by the police in a firefight. Although authorities know the shooter’s identity, they have chosen not to release the name until the next of kin is notified.
