The Waypoint is a true feature rich garment. This article is a bit longer than I intended because there are so many cool features on the Waypoint. I don’t want to gloss over them because one of those details may be important to you. Here goes.

I have worn the Waypoint both in the woods and around town in the pacific north-west winter. You can’t fool around with poor clothing here. The weather has bounced between 20’s and 50’s with rain and snow. Waypoint was warm and dry throughout all of my adventures.

Pnuma’s (pronounced: New Mah) new Waypoint may just be the ideal mid-weight, all-season jacket. Guaranteed hardcore performance from spring through winter. With a MSRP of $260, this soft and ultra-quiet softshell is versatile value ready for any adventure.

Waypoint s designed for movement Nobody likes a stiff bulky jacket when climbing into a tree stand or moving through the brush. Comfortable and deadly quiet, the Waypoint’s mechanical stretch twill fabric moves with you and let’s you flex.

The Pnumagrid fleece lining warms your core without bulk, allowing you to comfortably layer up or down as needed.

Waypoint is engineered to be windproof to 50mph while 3M™ Scotchgard™ DWR water repellent keeps you dry. YKK stitch-sealed and tape-sealed heavy-duty zippers make sure the water stays on the outside even under the worst conditions.

Made for rugged use, Waypoint has the added protection of proprietary PnumaGuard™ Non-slip, wear-resistant overlays on the areas that receive the most stress. The no-slip overlays on jacket shoulders prevent pack slippage. This tough design helps Waypoint stand up to whatever punishment you can dish out.

How can you wear all this high-tech insulation and not overheat? The pit zip vents allow you to customize your heat levels. Forward of backpack straps, the pit zips to work seamlessly with packs.

I love the pockets. Five strategically placed zippered pockets keep your hands warm with a soft lining and stow your phone or small valuables on the chest and shoulder. There are also two zippered chest pockets on the inside. This is exactly what I need.

Another innovative feature is an integrated tree stand harness port on the back between the shoulder blades. This keeps you safe while you sit in your stand, waiting for the perfect shot.

I like the removeable hood. Warm in high winds, it also keeps rain and snow from dropping down my neck. It has a drawstrings to custom fit bare heads or helmets. When I don’t want a hood, I can take it off.

A small detail that is important to me is an inner cuff that holds heat and stops snow from coming in. This combined with a velcro cuff closure make sure I am as warm as can be.

The sizing was right on for me. The cut and stretch fabric provide an athletic fit which makes movement easy. It also looks good without being constricting. The stretch will also help you if need to wear additional layers. If you need a lot of layers, you may want to order a larger size.

About Pnuma (pronounced: New Mah) in their own words:

Born deep in the Northwoods of Minnesota and forged from a love of the sport, we are hunters who share the singular focus of providing the absolute best gear a whitetail hunter could ever conceive. Equipment that is first and foremost durable but will also breathe, repel water and be whisper quiet. Of course, we have to have a camo that will vanish in the forest and be flexible enough to wear in multiple seasons. In short, we decided to create the gear that we would hunt in.
