A shipyard situated in Russian-occupied Crimea, which is utilized for the repair of Moscow’s Black Sea Fleet, came under attack, as reported by the Kremlin on Wednesday morning.

In a Telegram post, the Russian defense ministry disclosed that “two vessels undergoing repairs sustained damage,” and it detailed that the attack on the Sevastopol Shipyard involved ten Ukrainian missiles and three attack speedboats. The statement further explained that seven missiles were intercepted and destroyed, along with all three vessels.

Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Russian governor of the city, confirmed that the strike resulted in a substantial fire and left 24 individuals injured. He also emphasized, “Our adversaries targeted Sevastopol. All emergency services are actively responding, and there is no threat to civilian facilities within the city.”

Social media footage circulated showing multiple explosions and a significant blaze at the shipyard. Additionally, a source within Ukraine’s Military Intelligence confirmed to the Kyiv Post that Ukraine was responsible for the attack, noting, “There is information indicating the destruction of at least one large landing ship and a submarine. The Sevastopol Shipyard plays a crucial role in the maintenance and servicing of Russian ships and submarines, many of which are utilized for missile attacks on Ukrainian cities.”
