5.11 Ellis Shirt in Volcanic

I grabbed the 5.11 Ellis Short Sleeve Shirt right before we took off for the UK on vacation. It was a light weight shirt for the summer weather walking around the UK and still provided a less casual shirt for dinners and other events that a T-shirt wasn’t going to cut it. This shirt looks good tucked into your slacks or left unbloused in jeans. The shirt stayed nearly wrinkle free while folded up in my luggage between stops and washed well with all the other laundry.

Vent Tac Material Creates Airflow When Wearing the Ellis Shirt

The day we went to see StoneHenge, we walked about 4 miles round trip in mid 80’s weather. The 100% polyester yarn with Vent-Tac really does allow for airflow when wearing it, without the see through effect that other vented materials sometimes have. It is finished with a wicking property that pulls the moisture of your body and promotes drying. This meant that soon after cooling off, the extremely lightweight material of the shirt was dry again.

RAPIDraw System Snaps with Button Appearance on Exterior

The Ellis Shirt is a short sleeve button up shirt that is made with the RAPIDraw system utilizing snaps that look like buttons and allow for an unobstructed access to your EDC items on your waist. There are two chest welt pockets with a pen pen sleeve on the left pocket. The only branding is a small woven 5.11 label on the back right yoke seam. The shirt is a regular fit with a slightly curved hem line that allows for a clean look whether tucked in or not. The shirt comes in Volcanic as seen in the photographs and a Titan Gray that looks more like a sand color on the website. Currently retails for just under $60.

Final Thoughts: This is a perfect shirt for travel or work that your environments can change from a client meeting to a tour to a range session to dinner with family or friends. I’ll be picking up some more of these lightweight styles for work and travel.
