The Spotter Up shooting team participated in the annual Toys for Tots charity match at Quantico this month, which is always a fun match for a good cause, as every participant is required to donate at least one new unwrapped toy. This year, because its not a regular sanctioned match, the match directors decided to build 4 stages, each of a different game/discipline. So shooters were treated to a 2-Gun stage, a Falling Steel stage, a USPSA stage and a Steel Challenge stage. It was nice to shoot a variety of stages and it was good for newer shooters to try out the different games to see which one they may want to focus on in the coming year.
Personally i had a great time, and got to continue to see what kind of performance i could wring out of a red dot-equipped handgun. I was pretty happy with my ability to knock down small steel plates and swinging Texas stars, and aside from some obvious mistakes/errors, my times weren’t bad at all. I even eked out a couple overall stage wins. Enjoy the video below and happy holidays.
