The 5.11 Stryke Women’s Pant is a good choice for those who need durable, flexible, and functional tactical pants. I am a very active person, and I need durable clothing because I am in the outdoors for hours every day. I wanted something that was functional and would hold up, because I am outside as much as I am at my desk typing. The Stryke pants are made with 5.11’s patented Flex-Tac mechanical stretch fabric. The 6.8-oz. ripstop material, combined with a DWR C0 finish, provides excellent resistance to dirt and water, making them ideal for challenging environments. As a person who spends hours hiking, I appreciate comfortable and durable pants. I walk daily, and hike a minimum of 10-20 hours weekly. I go thru a lot of shoes, boots, and pants yearly.

The pants are of a heavy hand but will soften after numerous washings. I really like the softness. The belt loops, and the pocket flaps appear and feel sturdy. Notice in the image I loaded, the wide belt I am wearing in the photo. For me, one of the standout features of the Stryke pants is their versatility. They placed 12 tactical pockets strategically on the pants. The pockets offer ample storage for gear, and the two main pocket flaps have hook & loop fasteners. The gusseted construction along with articulated knees ensures freedom of movement; this is critical for anyone in a high-demand profession like firefighting or law enforcement. However, for civilians like me I appreciate this product. I am a fitness trainer, and do Yoga too. I like anything that moves with my body.  I can carry my phone, and box knife for cutting vines and rubbish in my garden.

Pants material wear out when you’re using them in the woods or at your work role. Depending on where I go hiking, I can encounter barbed vines and other bush that cause a drag on my clothing. The pants also come with reinforced areas, including knee pad pockets, making them a practical choice for those who need extra protection and mobility. I mentioned that I like the wide assortment of pockets. The pants includes two rear pockets, two cargo pockets, and two deep front pockets. There are also two front upper thigh pockets for smaller EDC items. Keep a pocket knife or mobile phone, or anything you think you need in them; the pockets are roomy enough.

I really like the water resistant properties. Here in Virginia, there is often unpredictable weather late summer when it starts to rain more frequently during hot and humid days. The water-resistant properties are a major plus. The pants have held up well in light rain. This week our region received some light snow, and the temperature dropped to 10 degrees. I really enjoyed wearing these today with my 5.11 made shoes, on our outing. The pants include YKK zippers and Prym snaps. These pants, like most tactical pants use durable bar tacking at major seams to increase the overall durability.

I know that not all the feedback has been glowing. I read a lot of the buyer reviews. I haven’t had any issues with these pants yet. Some buyers complained that the pants needed to be used with a belt, as the waist is too loose based off the size offerings for women. One review criticized the pants for being too low-rise, which led to discomfort, as the pants rode up during wear. Additionally, the pockets were described as too tight to be practical, which detracted from the functionality of what should be a tactical pant. This user ultimately returned the pants, citing high expectations based on the price and brand but was left disappointed by the fit and pocket limitations. I highly recommend buying them from a store, rather than online. Try them on first before you make your purchase.  5.11 pants always run a little smaller than usual so you have to size up at least one size with these pants, especially for those with smaller waists and wider hips, or curvier thighs.

The pants are offered in many colors and sizes. I like that you can choose from over nine options, 11 sizes and two lengths.

In summary, I feel that the 5.11 Stryke Women’s Pant has a lot to offer in terms of durability, performance, and design. The quality of construction is evident, and for those who find the right fit, these pants can be a game-changer. However, for those with specific fit preferences, such as higher-rise options or more spacious pockets, there may be better alternatives. The price may be a barrier for some, especially if the fit doesn’t work as expected. If you’re considering them, it might be worth trying them on in person to ensure the best fit and comfort.
