In Israel’s ongoing campaign to apprehend all those involved in a recent devastating terrorist attack that claimed over 1,400 lives, the Shin Bet has formed a new unit known as “Nili.” This acronym in Hebrew translates to “The Eternity of Israel Will Not Lie.”
The primary objective of this unit is to track down and eliminate every individual who played a role in the mass attack in the western Negev settlements two weeks ago. This unit is specifically focused on members of Nukhba, a specialized commando unit within Hamas’s military wing, who infiltrated Israel, carried out mass killings in various villages and IDF outposts, and then returned to the Gaza Strip.
The members of this new organization operate independently from other Command and Control units that concentrate on neutralizing strike cells and high-ranking terrorists. Their mission is unique, combining both field operatives and intelligence personnel.
Recent successes for Nili include the elimination of Ali Qadhi, a commander within the Hamas Nukhba force responsible for the attack on the border area, and the subsequent removal of another prominent figure, Billal Al Kedra, who led the lethal raid in Nirim.
