Road ID bracelet builds on the identification purpose that dog tags and medical bracelets established decades ago; how do we identify those whom we don’t know? The Road ID product was created after the Co-Owner found himself lying in a ditch after nearly being hit by a truck. Good ideas sometimes come from potentially bad mistakes. Even good ol’ ultramarathon man, Dean Karnazes touts them. Not sure if he wears one but the idea of having high visibility gear should be appealing for those who worry.

On to the wrist bracelets… You can have your personal information laser engraved onto the metal face plate. The bracelets are comfortable, and the Sport Model has two 3M reflective strips and a Velcro closure. Also, they are washable and come in multiple colors; bright or tame. For those looking for something discreet, go for the color black.

The new feature is an Emergency Response Support number that can be called for just a few dollars a month. ($9.99 value I believe).

What do you put on the bracelet? It’s recommended by the company that you put your primary information such as Full Name, City, State, Country and Emergency Phone Numbers. Also add Allergies, NKA, Blood Type, Organ Donor, DOB, and Medical Conditions. For this blog article I covered up the information with our logo.

Putting all of my information out there isn’t something I would personally do. But, for those who have family members who are particularly susceptible to illnesses and need medical care, this is a good product to have. They are even good to use on younger children who can’t remember all of their information.

For those who train around inattentive vehicle drivers, the ID bracelet will come in handy.

Regardless of what you decide to do, the ID bracelet is a sound tool for providing comprehensive info to first responders and passing Samaritans. The company Road ID also offers other items in their identification line up: Ankle ID’s, Shoe ID’s, Shoe Pouch ID and a lot of high visibility accessories.
