Its 2021, the firearm industry is under constant scrutiny, guns are flying off the shelf, ammo is either missing in action or an astronomical price. So, what do we do? Do we pay top dollar for ammo to get out and train or wait several months for our ammo order to come in? These are obstacles we face frequently as gun enthusiast or instructors. The AR-15 is one of the most popular and versatile firearms in the world.  It is light weight, modular, low recoil, and relatively easy to use for shooters.

Currently, ammo for an AR-15 is around $1.75-$2.00+ a round.  Whereas, in the beginning of 2020, prior to Covid, ammo for a 556 was 20 cents a round. Giving gun advocates, law enforcement, military, and those wanting to train the opportunity to do so without eating into their wallet.  Now, with ammo at its current price, many Americans are either stockpiling there ammo or trying to allocate more.  With the ammo crisis not having a predictable end; training has been extremely modified.  Low round count drills are an option or using a different weapon platform to save some money.  However, this doesn’t allow the user to train with the most popular weapon platform available to Americans. Many people who use their AR-15 on a consistent training basis need an option.  Thats where the CMMG .22LR conversion bolt comes into play.

The CMMG .22LR conversion bolt allows for users to convert their 556 rifle into a .22 caliber rifle with no tools necessary.  Simply remove the BCG from the rifle and swap with the .22LR BCG. Load your .22 magazine and get to training.  Install your conversion kit in seconds and start training with your weapon platform while saving money. In under a minute I was able to rotate bolts out of my 556, converting it to a .22LR and ready to train. Allowing the user to save money on ammo while having the capability to use their firearm with the weight characteristics and training similarities of that which one is used to adds tremendous value to this product.

Cost: 5/5

For $229.95 you can get the 22LR AR Conversion Kit, Bravo, W/3 Magazines.  This is a great deal in regards to quality of the product.  Taking the time to purchase on conversion kit will save you money while still allowing you to train with your 556 rifle. The CMMG conversion kit is also made here in the U.S.A.

Functionality: 5/5

The functionality of the 22LR AR Conversion Kit is superior.  Having the capability to interchange and work with the most popular rifle platform in the United States will be a game changer for those looking to sharpen their skills behind the rifle while keeping their pockets and budget in mind. This conversion kit saves you money while providing you with real life training using your weapon platform of choice.  Even during these uncertain times with rifles and ammo, CMMG provides you with a training alternative.

Durability: 5/5

I have run over 100 rounds through the CMMG 22LR bolt conversion kit without a failure.  The magazines that come with your Bravo kit purchase worked exceptionally well with no failure to seat a bullet in the chamber.  The bolt is stainless steel and won’t rust.  In the environment that I train, having a product that won’t rust is crucial with high humidity and temperatures. The bolt is easily disassembled for cleaning and storage when not using.

Overall: 15/15

The CMMG 22LR Conversion Kit is the product for you if you are looking for versatility and savings on your next trip to the range. Quickly and easily swap your bolts and train with the same weigh characteristics, weapon platform, and get to training.
