Police are holding Kenneth Maurice Quick Jr. for the December 2020 slayings of Master Sgt. William LaVigne II and Army veteran Timothy Dumas Sr. at Fort Liberty. Quick has been indicted on several charges, including murder, conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute cocaine, firearm-related charges, and obstruction charges.

According to the information in the news release, Quick allegedly committed first-degree murder by shooting one person on the property of what was then Fort Bragg on December 1, 2020. Additionally, Quick is accused of using a firearm to murder a second victim on the same day, with this murder allegedly being related to a separate charge for conspiracy to distribute cocaine.

The bodies of the victims, Master Sgt. William LaVigne II and Army veteran Timothy Dumas Sr., were discovered on December 2, 2020, in a wooded area accessible to the public near a training area along Manchester Road.

The indictment also asserts that Quick conspired with other individuals, both known and unknown to the Grand Jury, to distribute cocaine between November 25, 2020, and December 1, 2020.
