These glasses are dope! Check out the color.

WarBird Protection Group has made a bold entry into the civilian personal protection market with its innovative range of products, including the WARBIRD Pro Fusillade in Tortoise Shell. As someone deeply invested in both style and functionality, I eagerly put these sunglasses to the test, and they exceeded my expectations on all fronts. The packaging is smart looking; the glasses come wrapped inside a white microfiber drawstring bag which is placed inside a zippered, black protective case w/morale patch affixed. The box it comes in is white and yellow, which give it a nice presentation so different from many tactical eye-pro brands.

Let’s start with style. The Tortoise Shell design exudes sophistication, effortlessly complementing any outfit and occasion. My first day wearing them on a Sunday chill day, I paired them with a brown plaid shirt, and dark blue 5.11 jacket. Whether I’m exploring the great outdoors or navigating urban landscapes, the Fusillade adds a touch of elegance to my look, setting me apart from the crowd. If you don’t like the tortoise shell then there are many other choices: black, green, Navy and gray matte color.

The lens color is what they call Solid, and the lens tint is called Smoke, while the color is Brown. I thought the brown lenses and the tortoise combination really made the glasses stand out. Notice the four horizontal accent lines shaped into the glasses, seated right below the word Warbird. The vented lines are great for breathability, and the lines also give the glasses a strong and sleek appearance. However, style alone isn’t enough when it comes to eyewear, especially for outdoor enthusiasts like myself. The Fusillade shines in terms of performance, boasting a range of features designed to protect and enhance vision in any environment.

The 4SHADOW lens technology is a standout feature, providing unparalleled clarity and contrast. Whether I’m trekking through rugged terrain or admiring scenic vistas, the Fusillade ensures that every detail is crystal clear, enhancing my overall experience. When you get your glasses, try them while you are driving, and you’ll notice how crisp the outdoors look.

Safety is paramount, and the Fusillade doesn’t disappoint in this regard. With its ANSI Z87.1-level safety rating, I feel confident knowing that my eyes are shielded from impacts and debris, whether I’m engaging in outdoor activities or working on projects around the house.

Comfort is also a priority during extended wear, and the Fusillade delivers on this front as well. The Kaiwall™ Bio-based TR90 frame material strikes the perfect balance between durability and lightweight comfort, while the thin temple design ensures a snug fit, even when wearing headphones or ear protection. Plus, the side ventilation prevents fogging, ensuring clear vision in any weather conditions.

Additional features like the non-toxic rubber nose pad and temple pads enhance comfort and stability, making the Fusillade a pleasure to wear for long periods. Note the image below. The temple pads will keep the glasses on your face. I don’t have hair, and therefore when I perspire my sweat can drip down my face. The pads are great for pinning the glasses down, and yet they remain comfortable. They will stay on your face while you’re running on the range, on banging your head to some hard music.

And let’s not forget about the accessories – the zippered protective case with morale patch, quick-release clip, and microfiber drawstring bag provide added convenience and peace of mind, ensuring that my sunglasses are always safe and secure.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The WARBIRD Pro Fusillade in Tortoise Shell is more than just a fashion statement – it’s a stylish and high-performance companion for all my outdoor adventures. Whether I’m hiking, biking, or simply enjoying a day in the sun, the Fusillade offers unbeatable protection and style, making it a must-have accessory for anyone seeking top-quality eyewear. Highly recommended. At the moment Warbird Pro has about a dozen different styles to choose from. I believe there is good variety to be had, and you will find something to fit your vibe and function. By the numbers:

Comfort – 4/5 These are light glasses but the frames are a bit taller than I normally purchase, therefore they sit more on my cheekbones than smaller frames would. I’m not saying they are Andy Warholesque, but I think they are suited for someone with a larger face or head. They are comfortable, but they might feel different when you pair it with wearing a hat all day, or helmet.

Durability – 5/5 Meets ANSI Z87.1 Safety Rating for Impact Resistance for safety- Kaiwall™ Bio-based TR90 Frame Material for durability, light weight, comfort. No complaints here.

Functionality – 4/5 Good airflow. Glasses perform as the company advertises.

Weight – 5/5 Light weight!

Value – 5/5 Decent value for the price of $139.00. Honestly, I am surprised at the cost, as they are under $180.00-$200.00 for comparable glasses from other tactical/shooting brands.

Overall rating – 24/25 A good start for a brand new company.

LENSES:

  • SMOKE HR The classic smoke tint that helps turn the world’s brightness down a notch or two. This tint has a neutral effect, turning down all light types equally. Anti-Scratch and Anti-Fog Lens Coatings keep things clear even in humid environments.
  • ICE GREEN SHIELD HR The addition of green in this lens helps ensure more even display of colors. Ice Green Shield helps to brighten shadows, making it great in low-light environments while also fighting glare. An all-around lens to brighten the dark and calm the bright. Oleophobic lens treatment helps repel water and fingerprint smudges.
  • ICE BLUE SHIELD Build on our Smoke tint base, the polarized Ice Blue Shield is an excellent choice for activities with high-intensity light coming from angles your eyes aren’t used to, such as water sports, snow sports, and even urban environments where concrete and glass reflect. Hydrophobic lens treatment helps repel water and fingerprint smudges.
  • BROWN HR Brown tint lenses turn up your world’s light while also capping the peak brightness. These lenses help preserve contrast and depth perception better than a simple smoke tint and can enhance your vision in cloudy or shadowy conditions by reducing the contrast between bright spots and dark. Oleophobic lens treatment helps repel water and fingerprint smudges.
