If you have been deployed or served in a combat unit, you know the importance that the tourniquet (TQ) plays. I personally kept three on my kit with two being in reach by both hands and the third attached to my IFAK. Usually I used rubber bands or hair ties to hold my TQ to my kit and they tended to lose their elasticity or drop the TQ if my kit rubbed against something the wrong way. Beyond that, the elements would affect my TQ, dirt, sun, and rain can affect the capability for your TQ to be able to do its job over time.

The Rapid Assist Tourniquet pouch looks like a double mag pouch and can be mounted anywhere that you have MOLLE webbing. It has a strap that allows you to remove the TQ with one hand (also allows you to launch it if you aren’t careful) so you can get to work saving your own life, or someone else’s. (Remember, always use their TQ first before reaching for your own when doing buddy aid, you might need yours later in the mission).

Looking at the construction the stitching is high quality, the flap is well built, and the overall design is beyond functional. My only qualm is due to my personal preference of running as smooth of a kit as possible. I prefer to run everything inside the band minus my three mags on the front of my Crye Precision JPC. This is beneficial when getting low or sliding over walls. Moving this onto my combat belt allowed me to mitigate that issue with ease.

Two versions are available: a regular and a large version with a very small change in the price difference. In the future if they made an inside the band version that had a tighter fit while still keeping the ejection strap readily available I would be beyond excited and buy two the first day.

Regardless, when it comes down to it if you are deploying to anywhere with extreme temperatures and want to make sure that your TQ is available with either hand and protected for the elements, you need to be ordering the Rapid Assist Tourniquet Pouch. This pouch is a game changer.
