You ever get tired of having to retie your running shoes while being on the move? Many of us have. Fortunately there are quite a few quick tie laces on the market and they can be had for under $10.00. Lock Laces is a brand that I prefer.

Lock Laces is a one size fits all lacing system. It is very simple to install. Simply lace the shoe, cut the laces to size, and lock them down. The laces are a polyester-covered bungee cord and this makes them water-resistant unlike your typical shoe-lace that unravels because it is water-logged. You can continue to tie your shoe-laces and make multiple knots but one of the problems you’ll encounter is trying to untie the knots. Not so with lock laces because you simply slide the nylon and spring Lock Lace lock up or down and you get the tension you desire.IMG_5286

Lock Laces retail for about $7.99.

Per their website:

Made for competition, LOCK LACES™ is the only patented performance lacing system engineered to meet the demands of endurance athletes like runners, triathletes, marathoners, and walkers. Unlike other products, wearing LOCK LACES™ sustains compression across the foot increasing the amount of oxygen available to the muscles which helps endurance athletes manage fatigue.

LOCK LACES™ are a universal cut to fit design.

The LOCK is fast and easy to adjust and guarantees laces will never come undone. The unique cord tip clip protects lace ends.IMG_5275

Lock Laces are easy to use. Once installed in your shoe it is easy to pick the tension you want for the best stretch-fit comfort. One of the biggest pluses in using them is the shortening in transition-time when switching from one shoe to another during triathlons or biathlons.  Those who compete in muddy events like Spartan Races and Tough Mudders just might like Lock Laces. You won’t have to continually bend down to re-tie your shoes.

The last part of this is simplicity. Lock Laces are great for your kids and for those with hand injuries. Warfighters coming home with injuries will find that using this brand will simplify their life some. Young children, seniors and those with special needs can use it with ease. Your feet will swell a little bit after walking or running and this is normal. Lock Laces will stretch a bit as your feet widen. There’s no need to continually retie your shoes because you aren’t having to deal with regular shoe-laces. Running stores carry Lock Laces but I also included a link to their Main Page.IMG_5285
