Remember the Child Born
by Donavon L Riley

In the mead-hall of memory, bold-hearted war-farers stand,
Shield-wielders of the kingdom, warders of the land.
Before ice-cold gusts, sagas of untold valor declaring,
As they tread beneath the war-sign, sturdy and daring.

Amid the clash, where sword-singers resound,
Foe-fellers, iron-hearted, their courage truly abounds.
In the war-song’s resonance, hearth-wardens unite,
Steel-armored guardians, beneath the moon’s wan light.

Through the frost-rimmed fields, with steel-eyed gaze keen,
The valor keepers press forward, unyielding and serene.
With mail-clad strength, they face the foe unafraid,
In the crucible of fortitude, where conquerors are made.

Upon the bulwarks, guardians in the night,
Watchmen resolute, under starry light.
Vigilant wardens, silent shadows they cast,
Sentinels standing, holding firm and fast.

For seasoned veterans, who’ve trod the well-worn path,
The echoes of battle, a tale, a lament.
Yet in this tide, as hope’s fiery-flame gleams,
Find solace in kinship, amidst this sacred day’s dreams.

To those who’ve served, honor-bound and true,
A shield-wall unbroken, a dauntless crew.
In the warmth of home, by the yule-log’s glow,
Rest now, weary sword-bearers, in godly peace bestowed.

In the hallowed moments, as Bethlehem’s star gleams,
Remember the Child born, a light divine.
His cradle, a refuge, soft and low,
A symbol of hope, where courage may grow.

So, swordsmen and law-guardians, in your armor arrayed,
Find strength in kinship, in the bonds unswayed.
For in this tide, where hearths burn bright,
May you know the Savior’s peace and joy, this silent night.
