Father We Must
Father We Must

Extinguish the brilliance of mistakes and begin aknew

Impenetrable beliefs, Daedelic dreams fathered for so few.

Two bolts of lighting crackle and end abruptly

Screaming comes corruptly.

Heavy to live in this old wild world

Sacrosanct lights faded so roughly

Two identities borne with patience forever have been swallowed

Revivify! Revoke the light, nothing will be followed.

Upraised thy hands cup ether, for the last drink of sorrow

Bow thy head properly, soberly to meet the mad morrow.

Buoyant waves wash fairly the gentle face of a boy

Heavenward sent warbling, now knowing ‘tis much to high

Fall, fall at least deeply

Praised sweetly to die.

Wondrous length the golden tether, free forever to go

Whiplash snapping, coiled now slapping, taught, stretch, torn

Oh fathers foolish rankled youth, now immortal borne!

Inchoate, echo the sounds of heterodyne dreams coloured with Gods and Monsters

Snapdragon tailed, arcs so dark, strangle the God of Thunder

Nausea bound with phosphorous glow rampant ceaseless wonder

To forge the shaft of lightning rods to find no subtle burning

Healer bound but choked in joy, with each eternal turning.

Predetermine being, prefabricate the essence, now the mortals glow

Baffled, burdened hear the loud laments the freedom of mortality!

Painful grace these events; stand upon the proscenium with glorious mad duality.

Vermillion flow from the recumbent bound, lonely enduring forever

Alight! The stage in surreptitious splendour;

Well born Prometheus will never surrender

Listen! Hear every failure calling! Icarus shouts immortal, “Father! I am falling!”

Faint gossamer wings this broken falling bird

“Father!”

“Father!”

“Father:”

These voices must be heard!
