Israel has announced the death of Adil Mismah, the Nukhba Company Commander of Deir al-Balah, stating that he played a role in the October 7 attack led by Hamas. The Israeli Defense Forces revealed on social media that Mismah was killed by an airstrike directed by Israeli ground troops. This development was part of several actions disclosed by the IDF on New Year’s Day, including the destruction of a Hamas launch post, the elimination of a terrorist cell using mortars, and the removal of a terrorist launching rockets in Khan Yunis. In Shejaiya, troops targeted Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror assets, discovering significant amounts of weapons. IDF naval forces also struck Hamas terror targets overnight, continuing their support for ground troops in Gaza.
