TANDEMKROSS (TK) 2018 “HIVE” Grip, just released for RUGER MK IV!

A big highlight of Shotshow 2018 was having a chance to visit with the great folks from Tandemkross. TK remains a HUGE supporter of the rim-fire sporting community, and their owners Jake & Bryan are always excited to talk about what’s coming next.

Speaking to them about my great experience with the “HIVE” grip for competitive shooting during the 2017 season prompted a unique opportunity, to take home and check out their “HIVE” prototype for the RUGER MK IV which is now for sale!

I’m already VERY familiar with how the Tandemkross “HIVE” Grip has proved itself in 2017 for the SW-22 Victory, but 2018 is about the RUGER Mk IV.

Last year I competed in 20+ NSSF/USPSA/Outlaw rim-fire matches to include various State and National events. During this time I purchased A LOT of grips (among countless other things) including the $150 Volquartsen SW-22 Grip. It didn’t take many rounds to go down range to confidently say the TK “HIVE” is my top choice for these matches. It provides me a seriously solid grip that DOES make a difference.

In a previous post for the SW22 HIVE Grip I stated my biggest issue with standards grips is the size. RUGER is just like S&W for producing slender factory rim-fire grips which provide you with JUST enough to hold onto. If you have hands any larger than a child’s, you are going to appreciate the HIVE. With about a 1/4″ overall added bulk to the frame, this gives you a solid grasp which supports target acquisitions from low-ready, transitions, and overall confidence in each shot.

I have the exact same first impression and experience with the RUGER MK IV version. The prototype is spot-on!

The “HIVE” retails at $39.99, which will be worth every penny. If you’re interested in additional rim-fire components or want to check out installation videos I highly recommend TK’s website. If I would of had that advice a few years ago it would of saved me more than just time.

PROs

Adds just enough size to support a solid grip

Aggressively textured rubber for improved grip in any shooting condition

Patented impact and vibration dampening material (Not a huge PRO for me..it’s a 22)

Slim profile ensures a great fit for any user

If you like ergo finger grooves, these were done right.

CONs

Many shooters don’t prefer finger groves – These are minimal on the HIVE and wide enough for grown man hands so it’s just fine for me.

The price could be considered a little high for a rubber grip, but I would easily pay it for the quality of design and fit.

SO… When is this thing coming out? 2018 is the answer. Tandemkross is on the finishing touches/production stage, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it drops before summer.

Easiest and fastest way to find out as always is to just follow them on Facebook / Instagram.

Tandemkross has done an amazing job with the RUGER MK IV “HIVE” and I’m excited to see that TK has expanded to additional platforms in 2018!
