A little review on the Vedder Holsters LightTuck Inside Waist Band holster I’ve been wearing and using every day for a bit now. Now when I say I wear and use it I actually just do my normal tasks like I would anyways; things like go to the grocery store, and gas stations; maybe even a gun shop or two basically to try to see if anyone can see me printing.

I see that as one of the most important steps when you are reviewing an IWB holster, because basically you want your weapon hidden, and not to print. Now to the package opening; at first I was pretty disappointed to see it came in an envelope instead of a box. But they made up for it with the custom bag they sent it in!

Custom touches like that scream professionalism. Packaging and presentation are pretty big with me especially if you are like me and buy things as a kind of reward. You don’t want it all scratched up out the package. Swag like decals and patches are always a nice addition to the swag wall or gunsafe.

Now to the functionality of the LightTuck. My standard for testing of a holster is at least 500 draws (actually about 540 spaced out over 4 days) I know before you say it that’s to many but I like to get a warm and fuzzy before writing a review for the world to see. I like maintaining my integrity so I make absolutely sure standards.

Now one thing I noticed about the LightTuck right out of that custom bag they sent it in was it had a nice, crisp “click” when I inserted my Glock 19 BUT it had just the right retention. Generally when you hear the loud “click” you would think the retention would be a pretty high level but it was not the case here; it actually was a solid medium retention. I could remove the pistol with only one hand. Upon the initial general inspection you could tell they knew what they want it gives you some serious options to tune it to your specific comfortable carry angle.

Wearing it was pretty nice also. All of the edges are rounded off so you don’t have to worry about getting scraped or cut by them (I’ve had it happen twice it sucks). It also performed well at its intended purpose which is to conceal. I didn’t notice anyone turn a head or say anything or even notice it was there. The only person that knew it was there was me and that was because it’s a full kydex holster and well they all seem to conduct a good amount of heat while you wear them and well…. You sweat but I’d say that’s the price anyone would pay to keep everyone comfortable around you.

If I could change only one thing about it I would honestly say it would be the clip size from 1.5” to 1.75” I am not really sure where that industry standard came from but all of my carry belts are 1.75”.  All in total at a price tag of $54.99 plus a few dollars for shipping you could get yourself a very nice holster you can wear everyday. You wouldn’t have to worry about it. I would recommend it for both the everyday carrier or the casual carrier. I would say its priced well for both at a nice medium.
