WE FEAST ONCE MORE OUR SECRET NEED

UPON DEAD MEN’S HONOR OUR VAMPIRIC GREED

WE HAVE CHOSEN, US DAMNABLE SLAVES

ROBBING EACH MAN, THESE FALLEN BRAVE

THE DARK AND IMPOSSIBLE NOW LIES AHEAD

WE PASS ALONG DARKLY THE SILENT DEAD

RECKLESS MEN LOSE THE LIGHT ONCE LOVED

LET US LAY BENEATH WHAT LIES ABOVE

LET GOD TAKE NOW WHAT DEATH DELAYED

PUNISH US NOW FOR WHAT WE PREYED

I wrote this in 20 minutes just now yet I truly wish I devoted more time to refining what I write. All of us have many other passions. Write. Whether good or bad, just write. I see so many weaknesses in this poem that I wrote on a subject that is so powerful however the idea is to post something. Share your work. Be honest about your work and be open to criticism. I fooled around for another 5 minutes and came up with a version I felt gave it a more dramatic tone. It still ends clumsily . I’ll work on it when I have more time. Just write. No doubt you’ve got a lot of stories to tell.
