If you’re looking to mix up your street look and get away from tactical boots but want to stay quick on your feet a good choice for you is a hightop trainer. Hightops, particularly from the company P.F Flyers, is a stylish way to go when they’re paired with the right kind of jeans. These shoes are a perfect blend of fashion and function.

Grab your gun, gunbelt, holster, baseball cap and whatever everyday carry (EDC) you prefer and put it all beneath your favorite t-shirt or button down shirt.

Hightops are a perfect way to go if you like style, desire to stay agile and want to get away from looking like ‘that guy”. If you don’t like the green then go with black. There are many other choices from PF Flyers.

I like them because they are made of a sturdy military canvas, have a pronounced classic grounder toe bumper and a rugged, rubber outsole that has traction and is good on just about any street.

The shoes come with the New Balance footbed performance technology and provide you softness and ultra-supportive cushioning.

The classic bumper really makes up the whole look of this sick looking shoe. The shoes have a gusseted tongue and premium pig skin lining.

PF Flyers appeared in films such as the 1993 film, “The Sandlot.” In 2015, PF Flyers launched their “Made in USA” line, which is handmade in Massachusetts.

What you get are shoes with old school and new school mixed together. There are vintage details such as the reinforced No. 12 duck canvas, and double-wrap foxing tape. Put it together with a Guncraft holster and a Kilo Bravo leather EDC belt and you’ll look sharp, have the responsive footwear you desire and won’t look like the tactical guy with a gun under his shirt. Shoes will set you back abut $130.00

The Grounder originated as a US military issued boot in the 1940s, offering comfort and support to American troops stationed all over the world. In time it evolved into a high performance baseball shoe, and eventually became one of PF’s most durable all weather sneaker boots.
