1 min read

Eddie Levy born and raised in Illinois joined the Army as an Infantryman in 2003 fresh out of high school and fresh on the heels of the invasion of Iraq. He was assigned to D 2/506th Infantry Currahee where he would deploy to Iraq in 2005 and Afghanistan in 2008. Following his deployments he was assigned to Army Recruiting Command where he eventually finished his active duty career in 2012. In early 2013 he joined the United States Army Reserve as a Shower Clothing and Laundry Repair Specialist. He has served as a Platoon Sergeant, Transportation Detachment Sergeant, Quartermaster Company First Sergeant, and is currently a Transportation Company First Sergeant. He is married with 3 children. And currently lives in Illinois about 20 minutes from where he grew up. His message to the world: “The way I overcame the survivors guilt was I convinced myself that God must have an amazing plan for me. If he took men so great as Casey and the others and left me here. Well my mission, his plan for me, must be phenomenal. I never know when that moment is going to be so I’m all in. I’m extra. I serve, I try to be a good man, I help friends. Maybe somehow I can earn my time here by being a true servant to my people.”
