I think most people can agree that there isn’t anything much better than a little range time. It’s a great place to go have some fun when you have the spare time, to strengthen connections with teammates when you need to train and get after it, or to just let off some steam with some range therapy. Whatever your purpose, even a bad day of shooting can be a good day overall. Aside from being able to bring out all of your fun toys, it’s also become an excuse to put on your favorite tactical gear. With the rise of companies that have been switching over from everything camouflage to the more casual everyday look, options are nearly unlimited. Everyone wants to be able to rock their tactical jean with their 20+ pockets to carry all their needed (and not so needed) accessories.

For myself, I have been guilty of everything listed above. Even on a 90 degree summer day, I would find myself in my tacticool pants that were loaded with my wallet, smartphone, pocket knife, airpods, chapstick, keys, etc. You name it, I had it somewhere on my person. But living in a beach town where even the coldest winter day can feel like a summer’s day, pulling up a pair of pants may not be ideal. That’s where the Kadre short from Viktos comes in.

Viktos has been a brand that I have personally been a huge fan of for a while now. Their gear ranges from jackets, shirts, pants, footwear (boots, shoes, sandals), PT gear, and my everyday lifesaver, the tactical short. The Kadre short features a stretch chassis and padded waistband that’s built for comfort, laser cut vent holes and loaded with all the storage space you need for your edc accessories and range needs. Equipped with 6 zippered pockets and 3 knife/flashlight pockets, your storage capacity gets an upgrade. You can ditch your kit and extra pouches, with plenty of space to hold your rifle mags, multitools and whatever else you may need.

On top of that, you get a stylish look that doesn’t scream “I want to be an operator.” The Kadre short is perfect for any outdoor activity, hitting the gym, or strolling the beach. I even make a point to wear them on my travel days, due to the comfort they offer on cross-country plane flights and the ability to carry multiple items safely on my person. The length sits about mid knee on me, which may be a tad bit long, but I’m also on the shorter side at 5’8. They also come in 3 different colors, Nightfjall: which is a charcoal gray, LEO: which is a solid black and Spartan: which is their OD green. Say hello to your entire summer apparel. Coming in at $75, that can be a bit on the high side for a pair of shorts, but they are built to last and it’s not too far off from what you may find with other companies. Also, Viktos is a veteran owned business which is always something great to support. I highly recommend picking up a pair of your own, along with their other gear that pairs.

Overall, with the comfort, storage, style and other capabilities. The Kadre short is a great buy and I personally enjoy the fact that my everyday is covered and look forward to new releases Viktos will have to offer.
