I saw this item at the Prince William Fairgrounds Gun Show a few months back. Will and I first connected at the Dulles Gun show a few months before that, June I think, and we got to talking about reviewing some of his gear. He is the founder of and runs the company called MOS Tactical. We were able to try out his SPAV-W carrier system and just click on the link to see Jon Dufresne’s killer product review. Great product, this carrier.
Anyhow, I saw the SUMA container and wanted to get my fat paws on it, but he didn’t have any that I could try. But he does have a pretty decent video of how well constructed this product is.

MOS Tactical doesn’t make the SUMA but it’s a product they believe in. We’re always looking for gear that is reliable and price conscious. It comes in around $69.00 bucks but a good little gem to have.
What is the SUMA container? Per their website, the SUMA is: The SOLKOA Survival Systems™ ultra-light, machined, aluminum (SUMA™) container is a virtually indestructible kit container machined from a solid block of aircraft grade 6061 aluminum. This aluminum is four times lighter than stainless steel and half the weight of titanium.

The container cover includes a rubber gasket to keep out dirt and moisture, and it’s secured simply by heavy-duty Velcro® One-Wrap™ straps. The container can be used for storing fragile valuables or an entire survival kit. In addition to serving as a rugged container for critical components, it provides additional field craft and survival task capabilities. It’s strong enough for digging and its anodized finish allows for safe use over a fire to melt ice, boil and purify water, as well as small cooking needs. The SUMA™ Container is available in four colors – Black, Tan, Orange and Red.
