With the Covid19 scare halting the entire world, I felt positive heading towards an apocalyptic event wearing my Original Swat boots. Upon receiving a pair of the Alpha Fury 8s from the Outdoor Footwear Company, I wanted to ensure I took an ample amount of time before writing a fair review. After religiously wearing these boots throughout the fall, winter, and spring seasons; they’ve easily won my overall impression. I’d gladly refer them to anyone within the law enforcement community, and first responder alike. That’s not to say these boots aren’t good for the civilian sector. They’re an overall top-quality product for anyone to enjoy!

Upon receiving my pair, I quickly put them to work in the Pacific Northwest region. With hiking plentiful in my area, we went off the beaten path. Instantly I realized how light and comfortable they were. The slip resistant sole and nylon shank contributed to a solid platform, providing a noticeable stability. My entire hike felt as if my feet were being hugged, while resting on a soft cushion of sticky traction. They’ve been my main footwear since.

The comfort is mainly owed to the polyester mesh and microfiber polyurethane upper. This provides a quick drying asset with an astonishing lightweight design. Given this benefit, a downside would be warmth. While wearing my Fury’s on Snoqualmie Pass, my feet were quickly wet and cold. However, given these boots fit like tennis shoes, comfort and versatility are priorities gained. This was crucial while wearing them for a security detail on the beaches of Cabo San Lucas, where the environment is vastly different. They proved to be just as beneficial during the warm and humid climate. The mesh afforded great breathing attributes, wicking away moisture.

My largest problem with these boots were not the boots themselves, but combating my daughter for them. With miles of trails behind our home, she is quick to request them when we take our dogs out. Although they are big on her, she loves them cause they’re “FAST!”, as she says. Not only is she overly satisfied with their super light construction, but with the “fast-strings” as well. A rapid-lacing system allows a quick synch for emergency situations. Additionally,  Original Swat offers a side-zip style option within the Alpha Series.

Aside from the quick lacing capabilities, noticeably lightweight construction, and stable platform…these boots have an overall astonishing appearance. Their look is sleek and well-designed, making them an overall great tactical boot. The name Fury is a sure fit. Check them out at the Original Footwear Company. I’m confident you won’t regret owning a pair.
