Tactical gloves are a very simple part of kit that which can have a huge impact on your performance in field. Having a good set of gloves that provide the right amount of protection without sacrificing mobility and dexterity to accomplish some fine motor task will prove to be worth their weight in gold.

Finding the perfect tactical glove with the abundant manufacturers and types tends to lead to extensive trials. Over my ten years of military experience I have used several brands and types of gloves. I recently tried out a pair of the KTS-100 from HWI Tactical & Duty Designs. HWI is veteran owned business that has been offering American made protective gear for over 30 years. HWI offers several of different styles of gloves ranging from thinner mechanic style to hard knuckle flame retardant gloves. The company sells options for cold weather climates.

The KTS-100 gloves are a hard knuckle tactical glove design. These gloves have some awesome features such abrasion resistant palms, moisture wicking material, neoprene and hook and loop closing system allowing the user to apply a tight fit and touch screen capability.  HWI offers sizing from XX Small to XXX Large, so finding that perfect fit should not be an issue.

The hard knuckles and abrasion resistant palms offer lots of protection. I have used other gloves in the past with this level of protection, but they lacked in dexterity. HWI has found away to have best of both in this pair of gloves.

The durability of the gloves sets them apart from other hard knuckle gloves. I used gloves in the past that were a little less expensive, but I had to buy several pair to make cover a entire deployment. I put this pair of gloves through the ringer for the past several months and they are still holding up with no signs of wear and tear. I used them on the range, on obstacle courses, moving heavy steel around on the range and even thrown some shots at the heavy bag. The amount of work done and lack of wear has really impressed me with the KTS-100 gloves.

Overall, the KTS-100 gloves from HWI are a great piece of kit. Very good fit and flexibility but still offering a lot of protection and durability. The cost is little higher than other knuckled gloves out there, but you get what you pay for with this product. Only needing one set to last 6 months vs 3-4 sets makes up that price difference really quick. The touch screen feature is super nice. With the increase of touch screen technology in the field, these gloves alleviate the hassle of having to remove your glove to check your device.
